Blair, excuse my ignorance, but what does WNS stand for?
Tony "Blair (TC)" wrote in message oups.com... Victor : Although I basically agree with you, the UPU will probably just diplomatically say that The Democratic Republic of Congo does not participate in WNS. A number of other UPU countries also do not participate in WNS. (eg Yemen, Libya, N Korea, Algeria, Mongolia, Vatican (Holy See), etc...) ... Blair, excuse my ignorance, but what does WNS stand for? Tony Tony, WNS stands for World Numbering System, jointly conceived by The World Association for the Development of Philately (WADP) and the Universal Postal Union (UPU), and launched on 1 January 2002, in the fight against illegal stamps. http://www.wnsstamps.ch/en/ All participating countries submit their stamp issues to WNS and have them registered, so that collectors may check out the registrations in order to avoid purchasing the illegals. Is this reaction even a more diplomatic one? :-) Let's wait just a bit more, and if nothing happens, I'll try something different.
