Newsflash: Spain no longer exists per Krause ...
A koin deeler buddy of mine received the 2013 Krause Standard Catalog of
World Coins 1901 - 2000 earlier this week, and tried to use it to evaluate a world coin collection last night. Apparently the folks at Krause decided that Spain's current financial troubles are sufficient to invalidate all the coinz they issued in the twentieth century, as that country no longer appears in the catalog. (insert "oops!" here). Taiwan apparently disappeared as well ... perhaps the catalogs are being printed in the Peoples Republic of China? Has anyone else noticed any other missing countries from this new edition?!? -- Ken Barr Numismatics * * * *email: P. O. Indeed ...Krause Publications gioofed one more time. The new company that bought Krause Publications has nothing to do with numismatics. When Chet Krause was at the helm of his company many years ago this kind of mishaps never happened.
The owner of Krause Publications F & W is clueless. I wonder if there are any of the oldtimers left . Besides , they have no scruples to sell to anybody. A retail customer can get their books at 40% off, same as a dealer who is entitled his /hers 40%. As an old timer I call it "unethical" but such is the nature of hungry business as long as there is nothing illegal about it. |
