This U.S. Army booklet by the Department Of the Army is titled, The German
Campaign in Poland, 1939, by Robert M. Kennedy, Major, Infantry, United
States Army. It is in excellent condition. The booklet is #20-255. It is
dated April 1956. The booklet is 141 pages and is a U.S. Army Dept. case
study of the German attack on Poland. It details lessons learned by the
German Army in its operations in Poland that were later used campaigns
against the allies. It describes the German use of Poland as the testing
grounds for new theories on the use of armored forces and close air support
of ground troops. The book is based on German documents written during the
course of WWII that were captured by the United States and Polish survivor
accounts. This book was prepared by the Special Studies Division Office of
the Chief of Military History of the U.S. Army Department. The book is
sectioned into the following: (1) background of the Conflict, (2) Polands
Position and Germanys Preparations for the Attack, and (3) Operations in
Poland. The book is full of charts and detailed fold-out maps. The book
measures 6 inches x 9 inches and is softcover. The book is in excellent
condition. There are no loose, torn, or missing pages. There are no stains
or water marks.
