Default Is "Deutsche Bundespost" MINT Postage Valid For Use In Germany?

I checked the Suetsche Post site but I can't find anything on the subject.
Does anyone know if mint postage (mostly from 80s) is still valid? I thought
I might send it to friends in Germnay for them to use unless I sell it to a
collector. Also, is DDR postage valid (I suspect not)?
THanks

Hello Peter..
No, you cann´t use German stamps from the 80s. Only stamps with a
discription "€" = Euro are valid still. Stamsp only with the DM or
Pf-discription cannot be used anymore.

DDR don´t exist anymore, and no stamps from there are validt to day

Best wishes

Currency (DM v Euro) aside, current and valid German stamps are all
inscribed "Deutschland" to show they are government issues consigned
by the state's treasurer to the privatized Deutsche Post AG"
[corporation], and may be consigned to other private firms to be used
for postage. The "Deutsche Bundespost" [German Federal Post] doesn't
exist anymore, and it's old issues are no longer valid. The only East
German stamps that were at one time valid throughout all of Germany
(incl Berlin) were those issued in DM and inscribed "Deutsche Post"
(except for one inscribed "DDR" that had already been printed, and was
surcharged in DM). That "Deutsche Post" inscription denoted the part
of the East German government (it's "national" post offfice) whose
property and assets were slated to be and were later assimilated into
the "Deutsche Bundespost" when the laender of E Germany as a whole
were assimilated into the "Bund" in 1989-1990. The East-DM stamps
were declared invalid about a year after unification, and, even had
they not been demonitized, would have died anyway with the demise of
the DM in favor of the Euro.
