1882 CC MS 63 DPL(DMPL)GSA
I've got this coin and a possible buyer. What I wondering if any of you
could plese give me an ballpark price to sell it or. I'm not looking for the family price or to gouge the guy.Just an honest, decent price. His offer is $350.00.PCGS price list is a whopping $475. This Morgan has been graded MS63 DPL(PCGS uses DMPL) by NGC and is still in the GSA slab. There it a 1/2 scratch on the reverse side of the slab in the vicinity of the right wing partially over the wing..To me the coin should have made MS64. The face of liberty is immaculate.I think the marks on the obverse fields is what lowered the grade. Not bad at all,but noticeable. The reverse is better that the obverse.Too bad the photo NG shut down. Can photobucket links be posted here? Maybe it should be MS63 PQ. Thanks for any help. |

CDN Bid is $375.00, so any normal honest dealer would offer about $300
and price at $400 retail, leaving room for 10% price negotiation. It is likely that your coin is technical grade MS64, but NGC downgraded to 63 on account of the minimal scratch you mention. I believe selling price $350 to $375 is exactly what that coin is worth. Just my opinion from a part-time vest pocket dealer. Regards Dan |

I understand the above to mean the scratch, a half inch long, is on the plastic, not the coin. Without an image we can't look don't look. Bill Yup.Scratch was on the plastic. And which type of photobucket links work here? It's a moot point for this coin but nice to know for the future. Got $350 for the coin.Paid $260 a year ago.Not terrible. |
