Default recent find: they're still out there

It's been awhile since I checked on the group. Book searching is now
starting to pick up with spring's arrival, and I got off to a great
start today. An annual neighborhood garage sale was held today with
almost a hundred homes participating. At one of them I came across a
book by an author I collect but can rarely afford in first editions.
Under a pile of paperbacks I found one of his books, and asked the lady
how much she was charging for her hardbacks. When she answered that
they were 25 cents each, I gladly put my quarter in her hand and walked
away with a first edition, in dust jacket, of Ernest Hemingway's "The
Old Man and the Sea" in very good+ condition.
