It takes you weeks to drive to a decent book store? LOL

Just having some fun there but seriously there are several magazines and
books with coin values for both world coins and US coins. There's also
several great books located inside many public libraries. Look for Breen's
catalogue and Red Book. There's also about a bazillion web sites at your
disposal. If you go to sell and you don't know what you have you might get
burned.

Most large libraries should have a copy of "The Standard Catalog of World
Coins"

Depends what your intention is.

If you want to immerse yourself in the collecting hobby then buying (or
using a library copy) of the various coin catalogues will greatly help
you in the 'journey' of coin collecting. There are also many online
sources -- but you will have to learn a bit before you can ballpark
grades (condition) and effectively use a catalogue.

If you just want to dispose of the lot and turn it into spending money,
take them to your nearest coin dealer and ask them to make you an offer.

Bear in mind that people will collect *anything* so just being a
collectible does not guarantee valuable. Most coin collectors do it
because they enjoy the investigation and learning process involved. The
ones who are in it only for the money rarely make very much money.

Hope this helps.
