If you've got US pennies from 1943 and they're copper, they're worth a bit more than melt... B |

Brian O wrote: Seriously now, aren't they worth at very minimum 2x face? According to copper prices, they are worth just a bit over that. What does the price of copper have to do with their value? Well, seeing as how they are 1943 cents, if they ARE copper and they are worth hundreds of dollars (if not thousands), nothing! Any 1943 copper (bronze) cents are errors, as 1943 cents were zinc plated steel. -- ___ ____________ \ \/ ___ ___/ Charles R. (Maverick The Unknown) wrote: of 1943 penneis but not sure what they're worth. For average circulated 1943 US steel cents, the major wholesalers are generally paying $8 per roll (16c each) for P-mint coins, $9 per roll (18c each) for D-mint coins and $10 per roll (20c each) for S-mint coins. Higher grade coins will command more of a premium, while rusted ones will sell for a discount ... -- Ken Barr Numismatics P. O.
