Ground Connector on Pioneer H-R99
Is there a noticeable difference in sound quality when grounding an 8
track player such as the h-r99? If so, which gauge of wire should I use? Thanks in advance, Rusty |

Thanks in advance, Rusty snip For an application like this, grounding the chassis directly probably won't improve the noise and hum component of the output, and MAY cause a hazard. Don't do it, especially if the device has a non-polarized plug. The only consumer audio component where grounding is a must is a turntable with a magnetic cartridge, and even then, the grounding is done to chassis ground of the preamp. |

Thanks in advance, Rusty Rusty- the chassis of your tape deck, is grounded to the chassis of the amp/receiver you plug it into, via the ground wires of the RCA input/output jacks/cords adding another ground will not change the sound any, unless that connection is bad to begin with, in the back of your tape deck or receiver I have run into amps that had tape monitor loops/switches, that had a bad tape monitor switch and caused faulty playback, due to the bad switch |
