This U.S. Army booklet by the Department Of the Army is titled, The Soviet
Partisan Movement 1941-44, by Edgar M. Howell. It is in excellent condition.
The booklet is #20-44. It is dated August 1956. The booklet is 217 pages and
is a U.S. Army Dept. case study of the organization and operations of the
Soviet resistance movement behind the German forces on the Eastern Front
during WWII. It is viewed both in relation to the German occupation in the
Soviet Union and the offensive and defensive operations of the Wehrmacht and
the Red Army. The book is based on German documents written during the
course of WWII and survivors who had experience in Russia. This book was
prepared by the Special Studies Division Office of the Chief of Military
History of the U.S. Army Department. The book is sectioned into the
following: (1) German planning for the invasion and occupation of Russia,
(2) The period of German advances (1941-42), and (3) The period of Soviet
Offensives (1943-44). The book is full of charts and detailed fold-out maps.
The book measures 6 inches x 9 inches and is softcover. The book is in
excellent condition. There are no loose, torn, or missing pages. There are
no stains or water marks.
