1827 Poems by Two Brothers written along with his brother, won university prize for poetry. 1828 O' Timbuctoo won the Chancellor's Gold Medal for Tennyson. 1830 Poems, chiefly lyrical won some critical praise, which included the popular Mariana. 1833 Poems was published. 1842 The new poems Locksley Hall, Ulysses, Morte d' Arthur, and Break, Break, Break, were published. 1847 The Princess was published. 1850 In Memoriam - a major poetic achievement was published. 1855 Maude and other Poems - including the famous patriotic poem Charge of the Light Brigade were published. 1859 The Idylls of the King was published. 1874-79 Tennyson wrote several plays. 1886 Locksley Hall Sixty Years After, was written. 1892 Crossing the Bar his last volume of poems was published after his death. www.worldofbiography.com |
