TECH: Seeburg M100A Motor problem
I need some help. I have a Seeburg M100A with the original 6 wire
motor. I can't seem to get the motor to start. I have the manual from victory but that doesn't help much. When I turn it on I get both lights at the mech. as well as the florescent. Also If I throw one of the selection pins, the system will start to hum. Also if I throw the maintenance switches I will also get the same hum. It all seems to be working but I just get no motor turn. Also if I throw the reversing switch I do see action on the reversing coil. Is their a way that I can check for voltages on the motor? Any help would be appreciated. Best Regards Nick |

Nick:
Don't leave power applied for very long when the motor isn't running. First, be sure the shaft turns very freely. Lubricate as necessary. If so, get it into the run mode and see if the motor will run when manually started. Short string around the shaft if accessible, I don't recall the exact configuration of the A, pull it smartly and see if it continues. If it runs, then the start/run capacitor is likely bad. -- Crazy George Remove NO and SPAM from return address "Nick Guerra" wrote in message m... I need some help.
