Default WARNING - Avoid Edmonton Stamp Show=Avoid Thefts!!

The conscience sitting on my shoulder tells me not to respond to this
thread, but I ignore my conscience several times a day. Witness the
speed at which cookies disappear from the kitchen, not to mention the
sherry in the bottle!

Unless you live on a desert island (speaking to all members of this
newsgroup except our resident troll), you are aware that our
communities have a significant proportion of poor souls whose minds
just don't work like they should. Various pyschoses used to keep them
in mental institutions, but the institutions have joined the dodo and
the dinosaurs, and the psychotics now walk our streets. A woman in our
neighborhood walks the streets and alleys, endlessly wailing, with
rising and falling volume, "I'll never get better, I'll never get
better, I'll never get better."

Other people, challenged by other problems, never were hospitalized,
but they nevertheless suffer, I'm sure. They blurt out obscenities in
public (Tourette's Syndrome), or heap shopping carts high with
worthless junk (Junk Collectors Syndrome?), or endlessly repeat
pointless actions. I once watched a man walk up the middle of my street
(well, more or less the middle), detouring to touch every upright
object he came to -- sign posts, lamp posts, utility poles, trees. He
would place one hand on each side of said object, perform a 360-degree
walk around it, touching it all the while, and then continue up the
street, aiming for the next vertical object. That's
Obsessive-Compulsive Discorder (OCD), I am told by a retired mental
health worker.

Surely our "Lisa McVay/Tiberius Rex" suffers from OCD. He must get some
benefit from his endless, ridiculous posts, but only God knows that
might be. If he is "simply" being kind to us by warning us, then he
should give up: I can't stand zealots, who are just a step from
becoming terrorists.

I've known and worked with collectors who have had a great deal to do
with organizing the Edmonton Spring Show; John Powell was show chairman
for several years before his death a year ago, I believe, and never
mentioned a single problem to me. Jim Miller of Jim Miller Ltd. sells
covers at every Edmonton show; I frequently chat with Jim by e-mail and
telephone, and see him at club meetings, and he has the highest regard
for the Edmonton show. I should tell Jim about this thread; he always
enjoys a good laugh!

I am under no illusion that my post will do anything but inflame Lisa's
ardour for her project to clean up Edmonton and guide us towards
philatelic redemption. But, personally, I wish she would take her meds,
or take up knitting.

Bob

Default WARNING - Avoid Edmonton Stamp Show=Avoid Thefts!! Repost

Anyone stupid enough to attend the stamp show in Edmonton runs a high risk of
robbery/theft!!

Just ask all the many victims of what seems to be inside thefts at the shows!!

Just ask the people at APS how many have had their material stolen there!
And Bob Kane, and Donald Kaye [Police Ref.#03-39095] have had enough of
Edmonton, to make public their concerns in the media!

AVOID, and you will not have your material STOLEN, as has been

Just ask Bob Kane of central B.C., for his comments as published in

AND... this is a waste of OUR TIME and bandwidth. This hocus pocus
crap should be announced 1 time and then dropped. Sheesh...

You make it seem that the entire city of Edmonton are thieves.

ONLY THAT THE OPERATORS OF THE EDMONTON STAMP SHOW HAVE
HAD TOO MANY SUSPICIOUS THEFTS AT THIER SO-CALLED STAMP SHOWS!!

Keep the paranoia level to a minimum - keep up the minimum dosage.

To reply with an argument is futile.

Default WARNING - Avoid Edmonton Stamp Show=Avoid Thefts!!

With APS and BNAPS both documenting significant THEFTS from those attending
the Edmonton Stamp Show, a WARNING to all is just good advice.

Those who take it will benefit by not having their material stolen.

If those who go, get their material stolen, then that is their choice.

From all the reports, it most definitely looks like an inside job, as they
say.

With other criminal investigations ongoing against several executives there,
by various Canadian and other law agencies, who knows what will be the next
bad news report from there?

Isn't that what is wrong with the world? Did you learn nothing from Sherlock's
most celebrated cases. The truth can be so logical as to defy fantasy. What if
some extraterrestrials or supernaturals were exacting revenge on evil stamp
collectors? Is that beyond the realm of possibility? Aren't stamp collectors and
dealers among the ranks of the darkside?
The apple doesn't fall too far from the worm.

For several years, APS and similar philatelic organisations such as BNAPS have
had to report on thefts from those attending.

In all cases, there seem to be indications, of an INSIDE JOB!!

Troll.

Go find something else to do instead of playing stamp cop. you do a
poor job of it.

Droll troll.

Wait! I just hear another stamp show has as many thieves! I'll fill
you in privately, via e-mail as to not disturb the neighbors here.

If you don't get a response from me in 5 minutes, please start without
me.

Very droll troll.

THEFT at Edmonton Stamp Show!!

At the risk of encouraging this unfortunate two-year thread to continue,
please provide specific evidence about the existence of documentation
proving that "significant THEFTS from those attending the Edmonton Stamp
Show."

You have repeatedly stated publicly--and to the world via this
newsgroup--that there has been wholesale theft at the show in the past
and that it will happen again. Is this an allegation that someone will
steal stamps from collectors attending the show? Or, does this mean that
dealers will steal from collectors attending the show? Or, does it mean
that show organizers will steal from collectors attending the show? Or,
is this a claim that show organizers will steal from dealers at the
show? Or, is this a claim that dealers will steal from each other at the
show? Or, are you warning that collectors will be stealing from dealers
at the show? Or, are you alleging that that show security is so lax that
someone will attempt to steal from dealers' stock after the show closes
each afternoon? Or, is theft taking place in the hotel rooms of dealers
and collectors attending the show?

According to all the reports in APS, BNAPS, newspapers in Edmonton, and the
Edmonton Police - check their file #03-39095 report of theft of material of
attending Dealer Donald Kaye, for example, it seems that someone connected
with the show MUST be directly involved with all the thefts from dealers
participating at the so-called show!!

Security at the show is apparently non-existent, based on the recurring thefts
year after year.

Provide this information or please step down from your podium.

Default WARNING - Avoid Edmonton Stamp Show=Avoid Thefts!! Repost

This year there was not one word about the disgraced Edmonton Stamp Show in
any media in Edmonton!

Not one word on radio, or TV.
Not one word or mug shot of tax fraudster Keith Spencer in any newspaper.

Were there any attendees at all at this year's show in Edmonton?
Does anyone care any more?

Poor Grossy is still upset that Keith told him he was not welcome at the
Edmonton Show.
Not surprising considering the dealers wanted no part of him there.

What dealers, and who actually attended?
I did not see any visitors at all this year on Friday or Saturday....
