Oh, yeah! They're great pens for the price - if you can find them anymore.
They were discontinued a few years back and King Pen picked up the remaining
stock from Parker, but they sold out a year or two ago.

They originally came with either fine or medium nibs, then came with medium
nibs only. I got fine nibs by calling the Parker Service Center.

They're lightweight and very comfortable. At only $7, they were the best at
that price point. However, they're not quite as smooth as my Pelikano or
Future or Lamy Safari or Rotring Core, but remember, they didn't cost as
much, either.

I liked them so much that I gradually acquired all four colors, then added
the ball points and rollerballs. The bps aren't as comfortable and I don't
use them anymore, preferring my Fisher Telescope for when I need a bp, but I
still use the rbs with **fine** refills. They're my favorite rbs.

Back to the fps - I refill the cartridges to get the largest capacity.

Thanks for the great info. Funnily enough, I read about them on
and odd trip to diyplanner and thought they were still arround.

Huh. Yes, I see the shoot-out review on the main page. He says it's
available from big-box office supply stores but doesn't mention names so
there's no way we can tell where he's talking about. It must be unsold stock
from before Parker quit making them. My local Staples ran out the same fall
that Parker discontinued the Reflex and Wal-mart quit stocking them more
than six months before that. I called Parker to find out where else I could
buy them and that's how I learned they were discontinued and that King Pen
bought up their remaining stock. That was in 2005.

A quick check with Google showed that Overstock.com has the blue fp for $11:

http://www.overstock.com/Office-Supp...7/product.html.

The diyplanner reviewer, dougj, is inaccurate in other places on
http://www.diyplanner.com/node/6131:

1. "The Pilot Vpen (a.k.a., Varsity)..."

The Vpen is available with a fine nib and the Varsity comes with a medium
nib. They are not the same pen.

2. "...the Reflex takes standard long or short international cartridges.
Best known of these, of course, would be Parker Quink refills..."

No, the Reflex takes the proprietary Parker cartridges, not the standard
international carts.

HTH.

Every so often I give a few sites a check and that is one of
them. Thanks for all the good information.
