Yes, well, I see what you mean.
I am especially attracted to the mauve and neon blue issue,
very becoming.
The "guest house" looks like it is up to my style,
although it is end of the financial year, and I am so broke
I cannot even pay attention.

I was thinking of you today, not the least for your hideous scans,
you really have to sharpen up in that regard Tony.
You need to lease larger office space, so you can include a good scanner on
your desk.

splendid.

acknowledged experts on Jammu & Kashmir. (One of my greatest J&K
treasures is a copy of SG 100a on cover, with a certificate issued by
Hellrigl.)

Well, yes, it would appear someone had just inked the State stamp pad
before those two were printed. Still, better a nice juicy print than
a dry one, surely?

You may start to understand the mishaps in the perforations,
when you see this image of an early foot pedalled perforator
from Sydney IIRC, certainly far from sophisticated.
I think this is from the national archives.

Somehow the capture misbehaved and cut the centre
out of the image, but you get the idea, outside the shop on the footpath.

Interesting, though: I suspect something a trifle less sophisticated
was in use at the Ranjit Printing Press, Barwani, up to circa 1930.
And perhaps the brother of this machine at the Stamp Manufactory,
Trivandrum?
