US North African Notes
Just a few general questions about these notes. Were they issued as pay in
the ETO during the war? Why did they not stamp North Africa on the notes, as they did with the Hawaiian notes? were the North African notes pre-MPC's and therefore replaced by them? I understand there was a concerted effort to remove them from circulation after the war, were they ever demonitized? Why were normal silver certificatss not used in that area? Always been curious about these. would like to hear from veterans who encountered these notes in the ETO to see how widespread they were. thanks randy |
