Misleading subject line in emails and NG posts
I have been collecting Sudan Camel Postman for about 20 years and my name
has gone around the block many a time in association. This morning I received an email with a subject line: "new camel postman issues in 2007" addressed to me *by name*. The email, however, had nothing to do with stamps but was simply a sales pitch for replica watches. I forwarded the email to but it was returned to me as undeliverable. I seem to recall that a few years back there was talk of prohibiting by law the use of misleading subject lines - subject lines that do not accurately reflect the content of the email or NG post. Does anyone remember that? What ever came of it? TIA. -- Tony Vella in Ottawa, Canada |

Misleading subject line in emails and NG posts
Note that the "From:" header is almost always spoofed. The only reliable
email message header you can trust is the "Received:" header that shows who sent the message to your ISP. All other "Received:" headers could be faked. http://www.stopspam.org/email/headers.html http://www.cdt.org/speech/spam/030319spamreport.shtml Why Am I Getting All This Spam? http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/edcams/spam/ http://www.cauce.org/ http://antiphishing.org/ http://www.cluelessmailers.org/info/...or_email_users |

This would indicate to me, you have malware on your computer. I'd suggest loading and running the free Swedish software "adaware" which would remove the auto bots.
