If the reverse is stamped in the expertiser's name does that mean it is
a forgery or real? I was under the assumed it was real. The fakes were
stamped falsch in the case of German stamps.

Many times the expertiser is placed on the back. Sometimes it can be
a collector's mark for their own purposes. Falsch, faux, facsimile,
etc. would be fakes for sure.

Well -er- many times anyway.

the question of handstamps ... is only followed by aps and ebay ...
other sites and dealers, the FIP AIEP ISJP, expert committees all
follow a more realistic approach ... simply list the items in their
appropriate category ... "forgeries and fakes" with a descriptive
paragraph ... this is a branch of philately, still being discovered
and researched ...

it is a fascinating field of study ...
