Marion Island is a tiny island in the South Indian Ocean. In 1948
Robert Crawford, the author of the book "Tristan Da Cunha and the
roaring forties" where stationed on this island, where he, among other
things, acted as postmaster. March 20th the ship "Natal" left the
island, carrying a mailbag with leters bearing South African stamps
and his rubber cacet endorsement, "Marion Island, South Indian Ocean".
The letter I have for sale was sent to Norway. It's in very good
condition with undamaged stamps and a clear cancellation.
