The Thai postal service was launched on King Chulalongkorn's initiative with
the aim of modernizing the country and facilitating trade in Thailand and
with the civilized nations.
The service started on August 4th, 1883 and so 2008 is the 152th anniversary
of "Thailand Post". For more than a century, the Thai Postal service has
undergone changes and has had to adjust itself and improve is work so that
it is able to enjoy growth and expand all over the country. Its network is
linked to postal services around the world
