Well, AntiNudo and I have valid ideas...Nudo knows nothing. His
"basic cert" in "electronics" was probably how to jump start a dead
battery in a junk car.

direct quote from trippin-2-8...
"don't listen to that DeserTBob guy- he gives repair advice, and when
a person does it, it ends up ruining their receiver and tape deck- the
guy is a poser" snip

Another "Dishwasher Charlie" Nudo lie.

"I have a cert in basic electronics snip

BWAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA!

selling stereos on the net and ebay now, for 7 years- snip

Should you need any proof of this oaf's ineptitude, allow me to start
referencing all his posts about his failed attempts to do a simple
troubleshooting job on a valuable Fisher 800C awhile back...hilarious!
This moron doesn't know what the polarity of an electrolytic capacitor
means, nor what a capacitor does. He's completely inept, a simpleton
eBay hustler out to make a buck off of both you and this guy with the
tuckered out electronics shop in one of the most economically
distressed regions of the United States.

For more on this wad of excrement Charlie Nudo, see:

my partner has
been in business for 30 years- what I can't fix, I take over there,
and we always end up fixing it- most times it is only 1 or 2 small
components to solder in- but it has to be isolated and troubleshooted
first, to find what's wrong- that's the hard part" snip

"Troubleshooted" isn't even a word, "Dildow." It's "troubleshot."

"Dishwasher Charlie," repeat this 100 times before you go to
bed..."DING! Fries are done!" Then, go apply for a job at the
Wendy's over by the CAN'T DO BUSINESS/BERYLLIUM POISONING CENTER up by
I-80.

I do agree with AntiNudo...the culprit indeed could be a dried out
axial electrolytic decoupling cap in the signal path...easy fix, if
you have any clue about repair, which it doesn't appear you do. I'd
take it to a shop and get it done by someone with some experience and
proper techniques. Sometimes these will simply show up as attenuation
of the signal, while the DC bias voltages will appear near normal,
although sometimes you'll also note missing bass response in the
attenuated channel.

Hey, Noodles! Are you paying taxes on your "business" you do with
Stola? A phone call in the AM will find that out.
