Today I happened on the true first of this Vonnegut book, the Dell
paperback from 1959. While definitely not as valuable as the very
scarce hardcover that followed in 1961, it is none the less in very good
shape with only a couple minor creases.

One often ignores paperbacks when book hunting. And to some extent I do.
What I do scan the shelves for are the thin paperbacks that were
published in the past, eschewing the fatter ones of more recent years.
That substantially reduces the amount of work to be done.
