Has anyone explored automated stock-card scanning using a photo scanner
with an auto-feed?

Personally, I think one has to front up at a specialist store
for on the spot advice.
I am looking for a reliable "duplex" scanner, with auto feed
that will do both sides of my veteran stamp magazines.
(that will scan 4 pages at one pass)
I have been too lazy to haul my butt down to Harvey Normans etc.

I'd certainly test a swag of your stock cards before purchase.
You can get I believe, accompanying software for "auto deskew"
of your documents/cards, and even some that may scan for
redable text.
I think your wallet's health may also have something to do with it
