I kid you not, a 1944-D MS wheat cent, full red, without the
slightest trace of a rub....from a roll search this past
weekend!

Pretty cool, Alan! Wonder how that one got thru so many years
'without the slightest trace of a rub'.

I'm left marveling as well. While this piece is sorta unique in my
experience, as a BU Wheatie from a roll search, I not infrequently
find 1961's, 1962-D's, 1967's etc in identical condition. About
two years ago I was handed an entire roll of UNC. 1963-D's! You
never know what you'll find until you look.

I'm jealous! Well, to some extent, anyway. I don't do the roll searches.
At least not yet. I just never seem to have enough time to search my own
coins, let alone get a bunch more from the bank. I have about 20lbs of
Wheaties that I've never looked thru! Some day.....

Would be fun to find BU coins from roll/bag searches, though! It's like
treasure hunting! ;-)
