"Summer" has not a whit to do with it, ****tard.

I had one of these. It was OK, but always ran too fast, and there's
no way to slow it down unless you order a box full of belts and hope
for one the right cross section to get the speed right on...a problem
with any AC deck. Top end was nice indeed. Bottom end was inferior
to a Wollensak below 50 Hz. Mechanics were fussy. One nice thing
about Akais is that their record amps aren't wimpy at all, so you can
hit a "cold" tape as hard as you dare and not have to worry about the
the amps breaking up before you hit 3% THD on the tape. No Dolby...a
shame, else I would've kept mine.
