I am in the middle of trading for a certified Hall of Famer auto,However the
card has a dinged corner. Is the card still worth book value?Or is the value
of the card the auto itself?.Say the card has a book value of $80.00.What do
you suppose the dinged corner auto trade value is?

I would say it certainly takes the value down a notch, since if you had two of
the same card side-by-side, and one has a ding and the other doesn't, the one
without the ding will sell faster and for a higher price. That's assuming
of course this isn't a completely scarce card, something that's maybe #d to 25,
where it's so rarely sold that condition has much less of an effect on price.

However, I would also say that in the case of an autographed card, condition is
much less of an issue than say, a Bowman Chrome RC. But it does affect the
value, IMO.
