Default Do folks actually do this?

On Wed, 26 Jul 2006 10:45:36 GMT, "Amistad"
did carve unto the very living rock upon
which we now stand:

Two things about this auction --
1. Why would the seller not spend a few bucks to have the coin certified?
2. Would anyone actually risk spending 7 grand on a raw coin like this?

http://cgi.ebay.com/1937-D-3-Legged-...mZ260009350989

IN the Q&A section at the bottom he references that this is from a
$100,000 collection of which part was a 37-D 3 legger that is slabbed
by PCGS (though not offered for auction). So the seller is aware of
PCGS (thus he cannot claim ignorance about the existance of THG's in
general and PCGS specifically). The collector who left the "estate"
was obviously aware of THGs and PCGS since there were other PCGS slabs
in the "estate", so no apparent ignorance there.

Which still begs the ?: "Why isn't this fine specimin slabbed?"

I agree with others, it's fake, altered or some other BB problem.

The seller also tries to keep folks from right clicking over the page
to "steal" his precious images (though when using Firefox you get the
alert and then you get the pop-up menu that lets you steam em anyway
if so inclined) with a little bit of javascript.

Buy the book before the coin
don't forget to *READ* the book after you've bought it!
It doesn't do anything just sitting on the shelf
