My ISP has announced that in some two or three weeks they are dropping all
Usenet groups from the service package. What sort of access exists when

Hello Stan:

Using your regular browser , you can go to :
http://groups.google.ca/group/rec.co...tamps.discuss/
You will have to register, if you want to post messages, but it is
FREE.
(text only newsgroups - no binaries)

You can also go to http://groups.google.ca/ and select the groups
that you want to participate in. I have been using this for some
years without problem.

Finally, you should ask your ISP what kind of REBATE
this service reduction entitles you to.

Blair--amusing idea but assumedly unproductive to attempt. I had a problem
getting newsgroups about half a year ago. When dealing with my ISP's tech
support group at three increasing levels, the final techie admitted that the
ISP did not support newsgroups but she happened to know a little about them,
but not enough to solve my problem. When coupled with reports from other
RCSS users' reports about ISPs abandoning Usenet, I took that as advance
warning that Usenet was not going to be a long-term service of my ISP.

(The problem was solved by the only suggestion the techie had, delete the
three newsgroups I read, then reload.)
