HOW IS OFFERING A LINK TO OVER 20 MILLION CARDS IN CHECKLIST ORDER ON
A BASEBALL COLLECTING SITE SPAMMING--I SEND NO DIRECT LINK TO
ANYONE..I POST TO A GROUP IN WHICH YOU MAY CHOOSE TO BLOCK ME ANY TIME
YOU LIKE..AS FOR POSTING ABUSE - 3 POST PER DAY PER GROUP CORRECT??
ASK BASEBALL-CARDS .--WHY HE NEEDS 7 POSTS TO THE SAME SITE PER DAY??

To better understand the definition of SPAM, check out the following
link:http://spam.abuse.net/overview/whatisspam.shtml

As for posting limitations, this is a public, non-moderated newsgroup.
There is no site administrator to actively police the messages and
topics, unlike moderated sportscard forums such ashttp://www.thebenchtrading.com/thebench

I'm not really looking for a debate on SPAM, but more or less wanted
to give you a "heads-up" on the issue, as you're violating the terms
of service as stated on Sportlots.com- Hide quoted text -

max and i have already had this conversation and he dosen't feel what
i am doing is spam either--enough said!!

That's pretty funny!. I had to explain to Max what a Usenet newsgroup
was and point him to the definition of SPAM last week.

Max will need to amend his TOS as stated on his site if he "feels" you
are not posting SPAM.

SPAM away Chris.

from your own lnk

Spam is flooding the Internet with many copies of the same message, in
an attempt to force the message on people who would not otherwise
choose to receive it. Most spam is commercial advertising, often for
dubious products, get-rich-quick schemes, or quasi-legal services.
Spam costs the sender very little to send -- most of the costs are
paid for by the recipient or the carriers rather than by the sender.

There are two main types of spam, and they have different effects on
Internet users. Cancellable Usenet spam is a single message sent to 20
or more Usenet newsgroups. (Through long experience, Usenet users have
found that any message posted to so many newsgroups is often not
relevant to most or all of them.) Usenet spam is aimed at "lurkers",
people who read newsgroups but rarely or never post and give their
address away. Usenet spam robs users of the utility of the newsgroups
by overwhelming them with a barrage of advertising or other irrelevant
posts. Furthermore, Usenet spam subverts the ability of system
administrators and owners to manage the topics they accept on their
systems.

show me where posting 3 post per day per group is considered spam
above--if my posts are spam to you then so are jr sinclairs and smcci
and every other poster who puts a post on a newsgroup - or is it just
the one's tha dis-affect you monatarly??
i recieve dozens of e-mails a month from people intrested in joining
sportlots or how to navigate thru the site all from the different
sport newsgroups.. i flood nothing-i send no unwanted messages to
individuals - i post 3 per day and google has found nothing wrong with
what i do!!
i suppose since you don't seem to have the moxie to e-mail me directly
and keep using my link post to express your opinion, which was not
asked for by the way, i should be thanking you for continuing to put
my link at the top of the list with your posting police tactics--and
finally -- use your browser to block seeing my posts if you like but i
will continue to do as i have been since i am doing nothing wrong!!

"Spam is FLOODING the Internet with many copies of the SAME MESSAGE,
in
an attempt to force the message on people who would not otherwise
choose to receive it."

That initial statement pretty much describes your posts. Regardless of
the number of posts you do daily, whether it be 3 or 300, it's the
same message.
If jr sinclairs and smcci are posting the same message over and over,
like you, then their messages are considered spam too.

As long as you have the "OK" from Max, then you can continue posting
the repetitive messages. Go for it.
