Eric Waldock, of Malden, Essex, was the author. He passed away a
couple
of years ago, so it may be a scarce publication to come by today.
His collection was sold by Bonhams at their sale #11720 - Stamps and
Covers
of the World, on 15 Feb 2005 at Knightsbridge. It was Lot No: 124
Toombsiana:
The comprehensive and unique collection of Jennifer Toombs material
formed
by the late Eric Waldock in albums, box files, folders and loose
contained in
six cartons inc. thirty three albums with issues for G.B., Jersey,
Guernsey,
Isle of Man, West Indian and Pacific Islands, f.d.c's, inc. a series
of Benham
hand painted and signed covers, commemorative sets, omnibus issues,
presentation packs, miniature sheets, covers and cards with many
items
signed by Jennifer Toombs.
Also a further six cartons containing Eric Waldock's working notes and
rough
proofs of "Toombsiana" the catalogue listing all of the postage stamps
and
associated material designed by Miss Toombs, magazine articles,
cuttings,
journals, typed copies of "The Pitcairn Journal" and "The St. Kitts-
Nevis
Odyssey" the account of her travels on the islands.
A quantity of original pencil and water colour sketches for unadopted
and
adopted stamp or cover designs, tracings and thumb nail roughs with
the
majority being signed, also a further range of mainly black and white
