Default Interesting 'National Parks' quarters nitty-gritty

http://www.usmint.gov/mint_programs/NSQuartersProgram/

Apparently, the law creating that program requires that the quarters (56 total
designs, one for each state, the five major territories and DC) be issued in
the order in that the national sites were established. Accordingly, ALL 56
sites must be in and approved my mid September of this year. Then the USMint
will get to work on the designs. Looks like a very busy year is in store for
the selection committee!

I'm not sure how the question of 'five or six designs' question will be
answered for each year.

I'm also not at all sure of what site Wisconsin will be choosing for its
offering - WI has zero national parks, one national forest, one national
lakeshore, two national trails and a few scattered national wildlife refuges,
historic sites and 'wild and scenic' rivers. We're kind of sparse in that
department.

I'd probably lean towards honoring either the Horicon or Necedah National
Wildlife Refuge, each a popular stopping-off point for migrating birds - the
latter also known for its small but growing colony of whooping cranes.
