speaking of washed up 70's shows. Lee Majors. i have seen this guy several
times this year and he told us he was going to fight us, that he's tired of
us
and that we are scum. but make sure to catch him at the collector's show.
nice
attitude.
You can only get Lee Majors through the mail. He spits on people that
bother him in public.

What I noticed Barefoot about your picks is that (with the exception
of Brando), these are lesser calibur or washed up or soon to be washed
up (Timberlake) peole. Brando made an error I think but that was
hilarious. I wonder what he thought after he realized who Shaq was.
I know he's private but I think he's been on that island WAAAY too
long!
I think that the acting/celebrity quality of the folks at the top are
higher calibur... if they are lesser celebs, they have potential for
more because are more talented.
It's also interesting to note that those nicer to the fans usually end
up being loved more by papazatti and people like newsmakers and talk
show hosts. They seem to usually end up bigger stars. Anyone ever
notice that? I firmly believe that you reap what you sow and though
some plaques may befall you, you survive with dignity and more than
likely on top...

hey folks. i just bought a copy of autograph collector magazine (i
usually
don't buy it but glance at it in the magazine shop) but the top 10 best
and
worst signers list was in there so i picked it up.
it's a nice list, not very accurate, but a nice list. i still have a huge
problem with the people writing the article since that family is almost
never
out getting autographs anymore but relies on others to tell them who is
good
and who is not. and usually i am quite ok with this until this year's
list hit
the stand which obviously shows that they really are unaware of what goes
on in
the streets of hollywood on a day to day basis and in many cases...no way
reflects a "best of" list anymore. and while i don't necessarily agree
with the
list, it's way off this year.
so i pondered this idea and i really want to welcome other in person
collectors
to share their views. so without further ado, i will run what i feel is
the
best and worst signers list.
they have colin farrell #1 and while he is a huge star now and a great
signer,
i wouldn't put him past #3 as my #1 is a tie between elijah wood and
frankie
muniz. although they are not the HUGE names that colin is...they are
totally
nice about signing EVERY time and since i am a seller, i can honestly say
that
both of them have signed a 20 stack of photos for me at least once (i
mean i
got 20 autographs from them at the same time) elijah comes over at his
premieres and signs up a storm no matter how big the crowd is. and
frankie is
constantly asking us to get his name high on the list.
which would stick colin firmly at #3. he is a great signer and awesome
with the
fans. and he almost has a kind of boy band status with the ladies and he
takes
it all in stride (and may have went home with a few of them). he's had 5
movies
that were #1 at the box office for at least a week this summer alone. and
every
one of the premieres he was signing for the fans longer than any other
cast
memeber.
#4 i would could put several people, and i thought long and hard about it
but i
would bumb jennifer love hewitt to this spot. always nice and
accomodating, she
is a real sweetheart to fans.
#5 i would put james marsters. i know some of you don't know who he is,
but he
was on buffy the vampire slayer and is now on the show angel. he
definately
goes out of the way to hook up fans and dealers alike. always just
looking for
people to enjoy themselves in his presence and he is just very friendly.
#6 i would put on this list...kiefer sutherland. i can't believe this guy
is
missing on the 10 best list at all. this guy is totally cool to fans.
he's
started to limit people to 2-3 autographs per person, but he's always
willing
to come over and sign and even took time at a press junket for 24 just to
stop
doing interviews when he found out that a few fans had gathered and were
waiting for over 3 hours to see him.
#7definately asia argento. she's great about signing and very nice at her
in
store appearances this year. she loves the fans and loves to talk. very
beautiful too.
#8 although we don't see him too much, i would put michael jackson down
on this
list. he's made a few appearances in hollywood this year and didn't
dissappoint
at any of them. and although i was not there for it....the famous chase
around
downtown l.a. where he was signing at every red light...that just
solidifies
his posistion on my list and not on the honorable mentions list.
#9 no surprise to this big fan...but it's kevin smith. i would put him
much
higher, but he's gotten a little sour as of late about signing. but he's
always
accomodating to fans and last year when i notifed him about how i saw
jason
mewes in public, he and his wife did explain their concern for their
friend.
and i have been reading on the viewaskew site that jay is getting a lot
better.
and jay is an excellent signer as well.
#10 jessica alba. always nice and looks good every time you see her.
she's
always warm and courteous and no matter how big the crowd is, if she can
get to
them she signs. pojnt being the many premiers she attended this summer
for
movies she's not in. she signed away at 2 fast 2 furious on the way in
and out,
the james cameron out of the abyss premeire she signed up a storm on the
way
out. and the many times i have seen her in the last year she's always
been
willing to do one a piece.
now i would do away with the honorable mention category except that i
would
definately include matt damon if i could put a #11 on here. he's always
cool,
but he has shied away from the spotlight and hasn't been around all that
much
this year. but one note about matt, on the set of stuck on you, when the
security was doing more than their jobs and shoving around fans and
collectors,
matt told one of them security guys to cool it. that's a great attitude
and we
collectors love matt. some of the people on their list really goes to
show that
they aren't altogether clued in to the hollywood scene. i love em to
death and
they run a great business. i am glad to see that they are actually one of
the
good guys when it comes to dealing autographs. but sometimes they just
don't
know.
the woolfes added some playboy woman named sandra taylor to their
honorable
mention list which is obviously an attempt to put bigger numbers in line
at
their tables as she does signings for steven at hollywood collectors
shows. but
no one knows who she is. she's had small roles in junk films and took her
clothes off for some magazine and that still didn't make her a star.
don't try
to make her one now. and it's this kind of blatant commercialism to line
your
pockets that takes away the rest of their credibility with me.
alright, now i've done the best, on to the worst. although i don't
disagree
with any of these choices or the order in which they came in...i would
definately make some changes and some surprises....in case you wanted to
get
these people yourself.
#1 definately cameron diaz. she's a horrible little bitch with a huge
chip on
her shoulder for no reason. i do wish someone would cut this little
princess
down to size.
#2 i would still have tobey maguire. he's gotten worse and although he
signed a
few at the seabiscuit premiere, he's just plain horrible.
#3 catherine zeta jones. horrible. dson't even need to get in to an
explaination.
#4 britney spears flat out refuses everything. but i hear she did sign
for kids
at the recruit premiere. probably casue she felt sorry that her
date,colin
farrell, was signing for everyone and she had nothing to do but put her
hands
in her pockets. but i have seen the little teen queen turn down little
kids at
the in and out burger. how she is an honerable mention while christina
aguilera
is on the list from the woolfe's is beyond me.
#5 marlon brando.this could easily be #1. and i have never seen this guy
sign.
but i have a little story that i can say is totally true. i watched him
turn
down SHAQ with my own two eyes. and furthermore, i then watched as shaq
signed
away for little kids at the newsstand and marlon watched him sign and
then
walked back up to shaq to ask him who he was. THAT'S INCREDIBLE.
#6 speaking of washed up 70's shows. Lee Majors. i have seen this guy
several
times this year and he told us he was going to fight us, that he's tired
of us
and that we are scum. but make sure to catch him at the collector's show.
nice
attitude.
#7michelle branch. the woolfe's are right about this one.she's horrible.
and on
tour i heard she hides behind her people so you don't even see her.
#8 eminem. i thought i'd another singer on here. this guy is crazy and
jsut
runs away from everyone prefering to laugh as his bodyguard threatens
you. i
did, however, get him this year on a poster because he said,"he's
probably
going to give this to his sister." but that won't keep him off my list.
#9 one more singer....justin timberlake. hell man, i don't even see this
guy
long enough to ask him anymore. he goes in places and there are 3 guards
waiting there for his arrival BEFORE the car shows up. that's not
including the
2 guys IN the car.they hide him for the paparazzi and autograph
collectors and
run him in and out of places. and i have a funny one for this guy too. my
roomates and i ran in to him in a blockbuster video one night. my
roomates (not
being autograph collectors)recognized him but weren't sure who he was, i
casually said to them,"it's justin timberfag" and one of those stupid
lunkhead
bodyguards heard me as he was casing the place and told me i had better
stop
making fun of his man or he was going to put me down....right there in
the
store. the guy was like 6ft 5 300 + lbs. what am i going to to? i told
him i
wasn't taking it back and he'd better walk away. nothing ever came of it.
but i
think it's funny that this guy actually needed to defend the honor of his
meal
ticket even when the pop playmate can't hear me. unbelievable.
#10 i would put the bruce and demi combo. i do this just to say that the
woolfes do have some validity to their report. but ihave gotten them both
more
than once this year and although bruce still doesn't do photos with, he
still
signed. but they are very difficult to get and the situation has to be
very low
key.
that's it for now. although i have to say i have no idea where hugh
jackman
showed up on the woolfe list. he's been very nice about signing all year,
doing
photos with and signing multiples. i have gotten him several times this
year.
he was in l.a. quite a while shooting van helsing. and although i didn't
put
him on my best signers list,i would have givin him and honorable mention
on
the good side. this is another case of the woolfes being misinformed.
maybe
they just caught him on a bad day. but i caught up to him multipl times
and
except at the xmen 2 premiere he was always very accomodating.
