emigrated/escaped from Romania after being under surveillance for
exchanging stamps with people in non-communist countries. Many of his

Thousands of securitate agents were infiltrated in various European
countries as "dissidents"...
Now put 1+1 and you may understand...
His methods are almost 100% identical of the methods of securitate.
