Chicago 1934 Exposition Book on First Aid Medicine, c. 1934

This vintage 1934 Exposition book titled, The Romance of Exploration and
Emergency First-Aid From Stanley to Byrd, is in excellent condition. It was
published for the 1934 Chicago Century of Progress Exposition by the
Burroughs Wellcome & Co. who had an exhibit in the Hall of Science section
at the Exposition. It is a 1st Edition and Copyright 1934. The book is 160
pages and is a documented account of the famous world explorers who carried
the different (Tabloid) Medical Kits which were provided by the Burroughs
Wellcome Company. The book is sectioned by the Pioneer Heroes of Africa,
Other Heroes of Travel, Heroes of Polar Explorations, and Pioneers of Air
Travel. Such explorers include, James Bruce, Mungo Park, Henry Morton
Stanley, David Livingstone, Col. Theodore Roosevelt, Lt. Col. Howard Bury,
Capt Finch and Capt Bruce who attempted Mt. Everest in 1922, Lord
Clydesdale, Hugh Ruttledge, Rear-Admiral Richard E. Byrd, Sir John Franklin,
Gen. Adolphus Washington Greely, Admiral R. E. Peary, Capt. Robert Falcon
Scott, Sir Ernest Shackleton, Capt. Roald Amundsen, Capt. Oates, and more).
The book also has a section of the different Medical Kits used by the
Explorers and First Aid Kits available to the public, as well as the
Companys product other product lines such as facial beauty creams, Tabloid
brand Photographic products to enhance or color-ize photographs, Snake-bite
kits, and more. This is a very unusual book and published exclusively for
the Exposition. The book measures 5 inches x 8 inches. The book is in
excellent condition. There are no loose or missing pages, no tears, stains,
or water marks. The spine is still nice and solid. A nice original book.
