Broadway
Hey guys, I'm an autograph collector...sounds like I'm stating the obvious but
thanks to eBay more and more stars at the theater treat you like you're in it for the business and not as a hobby. More and more are *refusing* to sign photos. It's getting very discouraging. They'll sign playbills, but I'd rather have something I can display more easily...something with their picture of course. I had some nice pictures of Antonio Banderas and Jane Krakowski when I saw them the other day and they both refused to sign them. I have to say they were both at least very polite about it and did sign my playbill...but the signatures are on an inside page with no picture. :o( They weren't even high quality prints...I made them on my home computer. Am I doing something wrong? I'm sure if I told them I'm not gonna sell it they wouldn't believe me anyway. I'm not pressuring them or being obnoxious or anything... Any thoughts would be appreciated. Do you think they're any more likely to sign photos if I mailed them to the theater? I'm at a point where I'm thinking of giving up on Broadway. Thanks, Patrick |
seriously...just tell them that even thought autographs are sold on
ebay...their autographs don't sell for much. and just start talking to them about their movies. ebay is a bad subject, but easy to remove from the equation with some tact. which i have none of. but i always tell people their autograph doesn'tsell on ebay or that everything on ebay is a fake and that usually works. |
