Thirty-five postal administrations (including Australia, Singapore and Belgium) participated in the competition. In the Most Beautiful Stamp category, Namibia took top honours followed by Singapore, Canada, Argentina and Luxembourg. This is the second year in a row that Canada has won the Continental Cup. ================================================== ================ The 2002 St. Gabriel International Award, named after the saint nick-named "the lord's postman", for Best Religious Stamp has been awarded to the World Youth Day stamp issued by Canada Post on July 23, 2002. http://tinyurl.com/2rlx6 The St. Gabriel International Award, a sterling silver plaque depicting the Annunciation by sculptor Enrico Manfrini, is given to postal authorities for stamp issues of intrinsic artistic value and great religious significance.
