ANN: San Diego Open Air Book Fair
 

The San Diego Open Air Book Fair will be this Sunday, June 12, from 10
am to 5 pm. This is a free event, open to book lovers everywhere.
There will be 50 booths, a book appraisal table, and booksignings from
local authors. There are also several used bookstores at this same
location.

If you haven't attended the San Diego Open Air Book Fair for a while,
it relocated a few years ago. You can find a Mapquest map on the
official website http://www.sdbookfair.com/ and can get driving
instructions from your house to the book fair (click on "How to Find
Us"). Parking near the book fair will be somewhat scarce, but because
it's Sunday, you won't have to pay the parking meters. Once you exit
the freeway, you probably will want to park at the first space you
find, and then walk a couple of blocks to the book fair.

Hillcrest has lots of restaurants nearby that you can walk to, and
Balboa Park is a short drive to the south. There you can go to the San
Diego Zoo, enjoy the park, or visit the museums. You will find lots of
things to do this Sunday if you want to bring the whole family.

During June, San Diego is often cool and overcast in the morning, but
usually warms up and can be quite hot by afternoon.
