Does anyone know what all of the first edition points are for Tony
Hillerman's The Blessing Way, or where to find such information? Does the number series in back have to start or end with the number 1 (or both?) Does the dust jacket price at $4.50 or $4.95? Thanks. Brian |

In keeping with the method they used at that time to denote first editions, the words "First Edition" appear towards the bottom of the copyright page. There is a number string on the first blank page following the end of the text on page 201. The line for a first printing reads 70 71 72 73 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 Later printings of this title follow the same format, with the lowest number at the right end of the above string denoting the printing. The "First Edition" remains on the copyright page for later printings. The price on the inner dust jacket flap of the first printing is $4.95. Dick Stephens |

Dick Stephens[/quote] I have a copy inscribed by Tony Hillerman to Ken Norton (or Morton) with the $4.95 price and 0370 in the dust jacket and FIRST EDITION stated but no number string anywhere. Back cover does NOT have an indentation. Hillerman calls this particular copy "in between drafts". Would this be considered afirst edition? |
