Zogby: Giuliani tied with....Ron Paul! LMAO
Looks like Rootie Tootie's "sit out the early states" strategy has
backfired badly. Zogby's numbers this morning show him in a dead heat for last on the Republican side with nut case Ron Paul! Of course, I don't take a lot of stock in Zogby-run polls although I do consider them; some of his results during the Iraq fiasco seemed to be as "tilted" as were Fox's toward making Bush look good, when all the other credible national pollsters were showing Bush/Cheney in a free fall. Fox has since abandoned skewing polls toward the Republican conservative base, an interesting development in itself. Could it be because Fox's Neilsen ratings have been steadily sinking for months, as have Flush Limpdick's Arbitron major market standings? NH will be Obama and McCain...the "unaffiliateds" will carry the day for both of them. Right wing crank sites, like "Newsmax" are croaking that Hillary is finished, and so on. It's still quite early yet, but she'd better do something radical and do it quickly; Tsunami Tuesday is only a less than a month away, and she has to run the table there to cinch the nomination. The Obama camp is banking on big wins early to bolster his position going into TT, and the national polling numbers seem to be working for them in that regard. So, it's a battle of strategy more than anything else. However, look at Giuliani's pathetic standing, probably caused by his megalomanic attitude that he "doesn't need to campaign, people know me," which is quite typical of him. He'd have to sweep Tsunami Tuesday as well, and he's already got two last place finishes under his belt...the last one being tied with Ron Paul! Once the pundits get ahold of that line, Giuliani's gone...and good riddance! What's different between him and Clinton? Both have been trounced in the first two states...why shouldn't both be considered goners? Hillary's been everywhere...campaigning like crazy, face time everywhere, while Giuliani just sits back, doesn't go to the voters and gets zero face time. Not a factor now, but could be later on. I'd like to review some CNN/Fox/MSNBC tapes to measure the difference in "face time" between the two; I'm betting Hillary's time would be orders of magnitude greater than Rootie Tootie's. So, with both in the dumpster currently, who's "come from behind" strategy will work? I don't know, and neither does anyone else. With the primaries/caucuses instantly transformed from a state-by-state selection process over a period of months to a one day "tsunami" vote nationwide, it's a whole new game. If you use the national numbers as a gauge, Hillary's competitive with Obama (tied as of today, in fact) whereas Giuliani's in the cellar against McCain, Huckabee and even the flailing Romney. Let's hope he stays there! Just remember how irritating he was as mayor of New York City, and you'll probably come to the same conclusion. |
