I think we have talked about which coins arouse the curiosity of
non-collectors before.

I can show anything I have (coin this is :-) and the response is often a ho
hum how nice response.
If I show a dirt encrusted Roman coin the response is much different.
The coins that get the most response in my experience are the coins with a
prominent swastika
at least in my corner little of the globe.

The only unusual coin on my get someday list is a piece of
Canoe money.

Occasionally, I'll put my slightly worn 1991 SAE in my pocket and carry
it for a week. When I go to pay for purchases, I usually have exact
change in my pocket, so out comes everything. Some cashiers (and the
customers behind me) see that big hunk of silver and go, "Ooo, what is
that?" They almost don't believe me when I tell them, "It's a REAL
silver dollar." That inevitably leads to a discussion about Morgans,
Peace, Ikes, Sacs (nobody talks about Suzies) and SAEs.

Interesting comment, I have gotten the same responce when I show the "Good
Luck" token I have in my display, that contains a swastika on
it,............apparently it was a good luck symbol until Hitler and his
boys came along,................

I have a UK "good luck" greetings card that features a swastika on the
front, it dates from the 1920's I think. Billy
