Yes. I just got a brick at the bank today (of $2s) and the last two notes were

replaced
with 2003 star notes. The reason is something to do with the counter sticking when

the
"odometer rolls over". I can't find the link to that explanation, but someone will.

Anyone want to make an offer for my current bundle of 2003 series twos with the 2

2003
star notes on the end??? I can post the serial number tonight. I also have a couple

of
other bundles with cool numbers (lots of 7s and 8s).

I have found on at least three recent occasions that the last two notes in a
BEP fresh, shrink-wrapped, bar coded bundle of 1,000 notes (10 straps) have
been pulled and replaced with star notes. It has happened to me both with $2
and $5 notes.

The common myth is that star notes are replacement notes for damaged notes.
However, it is mathematically impossible for so many bundles to have the
last two notes only be damaged notes. Does it have anything to do with
their serial numbers ending in 999 and 000? Does anyone know for certain
why somebody at the BEP would be pulling the last two notes in the last
strap? I am not complaining mind you, just curious as to what is happening.
