Oz 2003

Here is the Aust 2003 basic collection.
81 stamps
The list is not exhaustive.
[ps] indicates "peel and stick" which may or may not
show the correct image of a ps stamp.
They are listed in release date order.
Only basic issues are shown, my HDD is not large enough to contain
the matrix of Maxi cards, variants, ps envelopes etc.

Hopefully this will assist the junior collector to organise
his/hers recent issues that may be outside heir catalogue.

Very good post Rodney, HOWEVER, assuming these stamps are from your collection
I must give you 10 raps on the noggin with a boomerang.
Many of the posted stamps have been CUT from a sheet. Bad, very bad.
If the cut was dead center of the perfs it would be better but the way these
stamps were cut it ruined the surrounding stamps. A somewhat particular
collector would not want a close cut stamp with no perf or very short perfs.

Hehehehe!
Thanks for those comments Ralphael,
and I do feel the concern and detente under which you offered
the advice. (You sound, a very nice gentleman)

ALL the images, bar a few are lifted from magazines.
None are genuine stamps.
The idea is, one (well at least I do) has the kwik-vu image
on screen, as one places the genuine article in the Hagners.
One can place the stamps in roughly the correct order
with approximate spacing so the gaps can be filled, as when
secured.
The image base is a reference tool, rather than a number
in a book or list.

I hope when you tapped me on the noggin with the boomerang,
you didn't hear a hollow noise :)

Regards
Rodney

very good job to find the pics and make the webpages and very good
idea for those who want to know all the issue, but some stamps are
missing ;o)

I complete the listing, please don't be insulted by this :

greetings stamp 1d silver ring
australian cultivar 50c kangaroow p&s
QE II coronation 50c p&s
rainforest faune 4*50c p&s in 2 different perf
murray river boat 5*50c p&s
christmas 45c p&s

and one question for an aussie native :
the 50c desert star flower (issued in 2002) was reissued in p&s with 2
perf, I think it's also in 2003 (so these 2 stamps come in addition to
the list), can you confirm??

Ah Ha, ThibauT, you have opened a can of worms.
The Australia issues many stamps in WAG sheets. (Water Activated Gum) Then they
issue SA Coils and SA Books. (Self Adhesieve) The stamps from the coils and
books sometimes are indentical so if they are on cover one has no way to tell
if they are book or coil.
I have some used stamps taken from covers that have one round corner and three
square corners, most definately from a booklet.
I wonder where Rodney found the book he cut the stamps from!

I have seen stamps from several countries where the same design was
used for both WAG and SA stamps, but the perfs/die cut separations were
always different enough that they were easy to distinguish by eye.

Insulted?........I'm outraged :)

If you liked it, do you want the full 2004 set?

greetings stamp 1d silver ring................Yes! found it.

australian cultivar 50c kangaroow p&s .......it's there! you missed it (page 2)
(i don't have images to suit ps though)

QE II coronation 50c p&s.........................Woopsies, you're right.

| rainforest faune 4*50c p&s in 2 different perf..(I'll check)

| murray river boat 5*50c p&s...yep
| christmas 45c p&s...................yep

| and one question for an aussie native :

Thanks for the "heads up" ThibauT,
It's evident that Perrier water, manifests a clear mind.

I'll check my records on the desert star flower, and report back.
I am still fairly confused with aust die cuts, there always appear to be
two models, one as "gummed" and one as "self adhesive" I've been
too busy trying to sort my collection prior to this to investigate
deeper.

Your advice I would think takes the years total over the 100 issues,
( a new issue every 4 days!)

Rodney October 5th 04 12:20 AM

Bravo ThibauT,
you are correct, and I elaborate:

Nature of Aust: Desert
the 4th issue in the nature of aust def series was issued 4-6-2002

To accomodate increased demand for 50c stamps
austpost has printed self adhesive stamps 50c in the desert
star flower design from the nature of Aust:desert issue in booklets
of 10x50c, chequebooks of 20, booklets of 10x50c, and rolls of 100
and 200.

a collector pack was also produced.
No FDC were produced because the design was released in June 2002

Technical details:
Paper Booklets.................JAC B100
Printer rolls of 100............SNP Print

Hence the differering perfs (I would guess)

I am still confused over the gum nomenclature for each production
but I do not collect gum anyhows :)

I'll keep a lookout when soaking for the different perf styles.

I have added these peculiarities to the 2003 list,
(and added the 3 values of "Farewell Frama" , this brings 2003
issues to a total of 104)

(BTW the "farewell Frama" can be sourced from 5 machines
giving a total of 15 issues)

Regards

Hi Rodney,

Insulted?........I'm outraged :)

oops, I hope my Christmas' gift would be very helpful to erase my
fault ;o)))

If you liked it, do you want the full 2004 set?

maybe at the end of 2004?

australian cultivar 50c kangaroow p&s .......it's there! you missed it (page 2)
(i don't have images to suit ps though)

you're right, I make a mistake, it was the p&s rhodendron which was
missing (of course I notice the wrong pics, no worries ;o) )

Thanks for the "heads up" ThibauT,
It's evident that Perrier water, manifests a clear mind.

yep, very fine sparkling water in troubles with workers for the
moment, but I'm confident, we'll keep the spring and Vergèze will be
well known in the entire world for ever !! (humm, maybe a little too
much no? ;o))) )

I'll check my records on the desert star flower, and report back.
I am still fairly confused with aust die cuts, there always appear to be

not always, god thanks !
But when there is self-adhesive issues, there are some times 2 perf of
the p&s (easily recognisable, 10 1/2*11 and 12 1/2*13 I think, I have
to check)

Your advice I would think takes the years total over the 100 issues,
( a new issue every 4 days!)

not so long because it's not for all issues ;o)
but according Michel, some adhesive issues have a slightly different
perf, for example 11*11 3/4 and 11 1/4*11 1/2 ! Too precise for me, it
would be the beginning of specialised collection I think....
