PSA 6 just went for about $31 G's after buyer's fee, compared to about $16
G's three years ago.

Wow!! That's a cool card!!

How close to the original color is that
card??

It's hard to imagine The Babe being that
thin!!

There are lots of other little cards going
for big money in that auction!!

Well, if this one is any indication

They're both about the same shade, meaning that maybe just about any card
from that year is going to look like that.

thin!!

He was pretty slim, barrel-chested, up until about the late '20s or so, when
he began to "fill out" to what many remember him being like.

That is a beauty. I'm not surprised at the increase in the card's
market value. After all, it is the Babe. :-)

With the looming steroid scandal potentially re-cementing Ruth's place in
history, it was quite a hedge move. :-)

I must confess right away that I know little
about turn of the century cards, so let me
ask you, Chris....

Is the PSA-4 card, that you posted a scan of
in this thread, yours? If so how long have
you had it?

Does that card also have the "Famous and
Barr" back?

It's a blank back. I've had it about 3 years.

Speaking of which, I'm interested in seeing how this (steroid
subject) all plays out. Once Bonds passes Ruth & Aaron (it will happen)
I wonder how it will be received by Baseball fans? With the subject of
steroids in the back of everybody's mind, this should be very
interesting. Only time will tell...
