WARNING: Noodler's Inks by ~shit-magnet~
These inks may not be the best for medium and/or fine nibbed pens. I have experienced drying and clogging of both a Waterman and Romet medium, both newer pens. Because the higher concentration of pigment in Noodlers, the stroke-line looks better when used with fine and medium nibs but be prepared...

section cement for vintage pens. by zot
Somewhere I remember that factories used orange shellac to cement sections to barrels and some used a 50/50 mixture of rosin and beeswax. Does anyone know the exact rosin/beeswax recipe? ben munsell

Advice on FP selection by zivo
Hello all, I have done some homework and would appreciate advice on my next pen purchase. Sorry - the post may turn out a bit long. Some background: -- More of a pen user vs collector; started in high school with vintage Parkers and Pelikans (lost now :( these things wrote better than anything i...

Superstrong Aurora by zippy
I had a potentially horrifying moment this morning in court. While I was doing an interview at the top of a second-floor staircase, the cap on my Aurora Talentum slipped off the pen and sailed over the railing. In the same kind of slow motion that happens during car crashes, I watched my cap fall...

Aikin Lambert by zippy
Got back from the NY Pen Show, accompanied by an Aikin Lambert "W.H. Sherred Pen." It's a beautiful jade green, a lever-filler. It's about the same size and shape as a Waterman 52, and writes similarly to it, too. Anyway, does anyone out there know anything about this company and where it came...

Pls Recommend Reputable 51 Dealer by [email protected]
I've had excellent sales/support from Ray Price, who had a pen shop in Columbus, OH where I got my first masters. He knew I was looking for 51's to use as writers, and was able to provide an excellent selection at a great price. I'm not sure if the shop is still around (haven't been in OH for a...

Speedry Brush Pen No. 56 by ymellowy
Does anyone have any info on the "Speedry BrushPen No. 56"? It's a VERY heavy metal marker pen with " Made in U.S.A. U.S. Pat No2416596 - 2547541" impressed outside of the metal shaft. It hs a gold colored pocket clip. I found one amongst my deceased (20+ years) father's items but have never seen...

Does the Lamy converter Z25 work with the safari or do you have to use Z24? by yland45[_2_]
i already bought the Z25 converter. But it says that you need the Z24 in the safari which i plan on puchasing in the near future. as far as i can tell, the only difference b/n the two is that one has a red twist and the other black. Should I but the other or will this one work?

Super Quink by yland45[_2_]
I just found a bottle of Super Quink in the back of my grandmother's cupboard. It says that it is Super Quink with solv-X, that cleans the pen as it writes. Would it still be good to use 50 yrs later in my Lamy 2000? Also, my nib is a bit scratchy on the l2k. any suggestions? (the problem improved...

lamy 2000 capacity by yland45[_2_]
sorry, me again. Im still trying to understand my new lamy 2000. When i filled up the piston with water, drained it in to an eyedropper, then filled it into a standard parker cartridge, it barely reached the top. was my measurement accurate, or is there no point to the piston filler?
