Ann Miller's fountain pen by
Ron Wilbanks
Recently, with the sad passing of legendary actress and dancer Ann
Miller, I was asked by a history professor at my school if I knew what
type of fountain pen she used. I heard she did an ad for a pen
manufacturer once, but I don't know which company it was for. Anyone
have any information on...

Winsor and Newton Inks by
C.
I have long used Winsor and Newton art inks with my dip pens, and been
much impressed with their colours. I have, for some reason, never used
their calligraphy inks. Their literature says they do well in fountain
pens. Can anyone comment on an experience with this product? If their
calligraphy...

WTB: Parker 51 Aerometric parts by
LAllin
I am looking for an aerometric, black Parker 51 with damaged cap and/or
barrel, or no cap and barrel. I want them to make a desk pen, for which I
have the black pen body. Any nib size that writes well is acceptable,
though I generally prefer medium or broad nibs. If you have one, please
email...

away message, inks/nibs by
Scaupaug
Offline with nibs and inks for a few days...I'm still here, just getting caught
up before anyone asks "where is my stuff!?". The orange and red lines have
been run and are again available - and sometime in the next week I'll put up 20
or 40 more colors on the site for the selection.
Lowest nib...

Cross Stylographic Repair by
Andrew Perlow
I'm attempting to repair a Cross Stylographic, circa 1890. The pen is in
overall great condition except the needle is missing. Who knows, it could
have been broken off sventy years ago.
I've found that a Rapidograph 0.80 needle is too small, (the ink almost
drips) and a 1.20 is too large.
I'm...

RB vs. BP by
Ron Wilbanks
I was asked a question today by friend of mine what the difference is
between a roller ball and a ball-point pen. I know they are somewhat
similar, but what is the technical difference?

light ink flow by
Prashant Singh
Hi,
I'm having what might be an ink flow problem with my Diesel cartridge
fountain pen (made by Stypen). Instead of nice, dark lines like I
initially got with this pen, it almost looks like my writing has been
faded in the sun. Usually, if I haven't used it in a few hours, it'll
write OK for the...

trying to identify unique pen / pecil by
marty
I have an old (early 1900's ??) pen /pencil. I found it over twenty
years ago and recently have been trying to learn its history.
It is a silver tube about 3/8" wide and 5" long. It has a slide-out
pencil lead (replaceable)and a slide-out ink nib (no bladder, it must
be dipped in inkwell). The...

Pen Transporting by
Roberto Medri
Again,
sorry for asking a question you'd have come through a thousand times.
I like writing with FPs during university classes. Unfortunately, my
university is in Milan, 60km away from Como where I live. I do have to
take the car, train, subway, bus, and finally walk to get there.
I fear it is...

Good Experience with Chartpak by
Wowbagger
Just thought I'd post a little positive feedback:
I dropped my Pelikan M805 a short distance (in severe cold) about a month
ago and it snapped in half. Happily, though, I called Chartpak about the
possibility of a repair explaining that it was not due to a defect.
I mailed it to them and they...

Second Fountain pen? by
Doki
I've currently got a Cross ATX which I bought a while ago and enjoy writing
with, but it needs sending off to Cross for repairs, so I'd like an extra
pen.
My local Staples have various fountain pens on offer after Christmas
(Shaeffer, Waterman and Rotring), and I'd prefer not to spend a fortune...

I changed the nib on my Ottawa lever-fill (maybe I won't sell it afterall)
and I was wondering what are my next steps. The nib originally in it reads

And the replacement reads

What brands make grey ink? by
Tommy C. Li
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Hello,
I am looking for greyish black fountain pen ink. The ink should be
noticably grey, but not any less readable than black ink. I find totally
black ink produces too great of a contrast to be readable easily.
A board member suggested Waterman...

Pilot Vanishing Point Pen by
Ed Hayes
I purchased a Pilot VP and it writes great BUT for better words it is
"squeaky".
When I write with it there is a high pitched squeaky noise.
When I write with the nib out of the pen all is well.
Anyone else have this problem or are they just noisy pens?
Thanks
