interesting material; some group lots, some literature, and some fixed
price specials. Bids are reduced in my sales; the average reduction
has been 15-20%. There are...

Sniping on eBay... How to? by
R. Carvish
Hi,
A few of you suggested I try to snipe... Well, I need to now. An auction I
desperately want ends Sunday, a similar coin showed up a few weeks ago, I
bid before work, 30.00 above the highest bidder, and someone sat around
bidding me up until 1.00 above. They may have paid any price, but I'd...

A "pig in a poke?" by
Larry Louks
In another thread the other day, I mentioned that I had bid on and won this
coin:
http://tinyurl.com/dnjpx
I haven't received it yet, though I've since noticed that the seller has
other coins with what must surely be seen as "outrageous toning", such as
this one:

Argh! by
Reid Goldsborough
You find a coin for auction on eBay that's on your want list. You
bookmark it. You follow it for the ten days it's up for auction. You
write yourself a note on the day the auction closes to remind yourself
to snipe. You remember the auction TWO MINUTES after the auction
closes. Argh! g

Grading opinions: 1896-O by
Mike
I bought an 1896-O on Ebay recently listed an MS-60 although I thought it
was only AU and paid less than AU money. This date increases in value
greatly above XF. I would like a couple of opinions as to the grade. I've
been fairly good in the past but I still have some to learn about upper...

1864 Small Motto 2 Cent Double-Die Obverse by
Linda
Anybody ever heard of or know what an 1864 Small Motto 2 cents with distinct
doubling showing to the left and inside the 6 might be worth? Sending it to
Coneca for verification first, then PCGS, but thought I'd ask. It's an F-12
because the "e" in "We" is worn, but the rest, front and back, is...

US Mint replaces Crap with Crap. by
DFloyd
The replacement for the greased up silver mint set finally arrived today.
This one has a large fingerprint on the half.
I'm having very bad luck with silver sets, 3 out of the last 5 sets have
had problems.

Lose $12,000 In Solid Silver Bars? by
Phil DeMayo
R. Vail quoted:
The eight silver bars and 18 silver ingots weighed 139 pounds and are
worth at least $5.40 an ounce at current market prices.
If they used avoirdupois weight for calculating the value (from all appearances
they did) then their estimate was a little...

Bicentenial Quarters by
Art
Cleaning out my dad's estate stuff, we found a number of Bicentennial

Are these worth anything more than 25 cents?
I thing my father cornered the market.
