The week's finds by
Denton Taylor
Hey all:
Not a bad week: one library sale, one church sale, one block sale.
At the church sale, in spite of the presence of multiple dealers, I
scored a true first/first of Cold Mountain. I must have picked up
fifty copies over the last couple of years, looking for the first, and
had to put them...

McMurtry collectors (?) by
Denton Taylor
Greetings all:
I picked up, at a library sale, an inscribed copy of Larry McMurtry's
"Some Can Whistle". The inscription looks interesting and I wonder if
any McMurtry collectors would recognize the association.
You can see a photo at

It appears to...

THis was a limited edition (2000) signed and numbered by the Beatles'

Gulliver's Travels 1912 by
[email protected]
Hello - Does anyone have any information on an edition of GULLIVER'S
TRAVELS published in the US by Doubleday Page in 1912? Who provided
illustrations, for example? This book is listed in the Library of
Congress catalog, but I cannot find it on Abebooks, Bookfinder, etc.
Thanks for any help.

safe storage of old books by
dh
I have some very valuable old books (1850--1930) as well as some very
valuable newer ones (1940--1975) and bought a small business safe to
store them in. The safe owners manual says that for documents,
humidity can be a problem (because it's a fire safe), and they should
be stored in airtight...

diana
Hello,
I'm a new member. Nice to meet everyone. I've been a book collector
since I was old enough to read and I'm not sure when that happened,
LOL. The reason I'm a book collector is because I've never been able
to part with my books, so I have an extensive library (the whole house,
lol). So...

Ebay Bull at its very best by

Before I start I must admit I also sell books on ebay. Now and again I
suppose I could be accused of making a very ordinary book sound a bit more
interesting than it actually is. Well if you visit this link I think you
will agree that this seller has taken the art of bull**** to a new level.

I have a book called Liber Chronica--- . I can't read the last bit of the
