How to avoid getting cheated on eBay - periodic post by
Reid Goldsborough
I just added a bunch of new material to this. This is an expanded
version of an article on the same subject that ran in Coin World. What
follows is a distillation of many people's opinions and observations,
including my own. Additions and corrections are welcomed. This

1965 Special Mint Set - which is correct ? by
RLWinnetka
I see 3 different types of these sets selling on ebay, but don't know why
they
are different and what makes them different.
The 66 and 67 sets are both similar in that they are in a rectangular acrylic
holder with blue field - in a blue rectangular box.
The 65's seem to mainly be the...

O/T Don't Broadcast Your Absence From Home On Internet by
MIckey
Today I saw a post on one of the yahoo groups that I frequent. A lady
was letting everyone know that she was going to be out of town for a
week in the Bahamas. Reminded me of a true story from a co-worker from
last year.
This person had done the same thing on a flight simulator bulletin
board....

[email protected]
I went thru a bunch of change and came across a $2.00 Bimetallic
Canadian Coin and also a Bimetallic Coin with NS 1 on it.
Can anyone tell me anything about these ie:

Thanks much.

Are there any rhodium or iridium coins? by
Wolfgang Haeupler
Group!
Does anybody of you know, were there ever any coins
minted in rhodium or iridium?
If yes, which ones and which country minted them?
Somebody in a German forum asked that question and
I thought you may know more.
Thanks
Wolfgang

Shill Bidding by
Sandra Wise
Hello All,
I was searching eBay's auction listing when I came across this item:
http://tinyurl.com/k4v2
I was thinking...yeah that would be neat, but not ethical and I was curious as
to who was bidding on, so I looked. Then I went to view all of this seller's
auctions and the same bidder's were...

info requested on 1983 D Lincoln Cent by
Fred
Today, I recieved an "original roll" of 1983 D Lincoln cents in the mail.
Most were riddled with carbon spots but I did manage to secure 5 decent
specimens that I would conservatively grade MS66. They are free of spots
and marks, have a nice full strike, full red and no "bubbles" which is...

Hello All,
For those interested in business news and memos have a look at this website:

I find the actual real URL a little offensive,

Right On Topic. This is supposed to be a newsgroup about coins. Yet,
by the very nature of the beasts who occupy the group, it must
constantly day after day, week after week and yes, year after year
constantly be one faction against another not about coins but about
spam. In the seven years...

HEY LINDA......WE HEAR YOU, OK??????? by
Jim
First the html idiocy forever. So bad, people are begging you to fix it.
Then when no one seems to be responding to you quickly enough, we get:
"Somebody PLEASE step up"
When that got somebody to snap to, along comes:
"ERRORS & MISC"

What should I 'realistically' expect to pay for these 3 proof sets ? by

PING: guy who e-mailed me for wheats a long time ago by
Chrysta Wilson
I still don't have my computer back from the shop (GRRR...) and thus all
my e-mail and my address book is trapped on there. You ever have
something totally slip your mind and then it comes back to you for no
reason at all? This is kind of like that.
I was involved in a trade of Roosevelt dimes for...

ebay term "NOS" by
Kaleb KEITHLEY
Gary Loveless wrote:
What does the ebay term "NOS" mean??
For car parts it predates eBay and it means New Old Stock, i.e. new in
box (never used) stock of parts for older cars from dealers and/or
distribution channels.
