Roll Call? (& time to de-lurk) by
bowcan
Hello Everyone,
Been following acpp for a while & thought this group was pretty much dead
until I noticed some recent activity.
Three things then.
1.) I'm hoping "Roll Call" (replies to this topic) might answer how many
people are still here if I have questions. (Mr. Ketterling has a point...

Just want to clear some stuff up by
[email protected]
I was just reading and noticed that I am being accused of being a
pedophile among other things.
The reason I was kicked off of FPN was because I called another member
a rude name in a twitter post and the FPN admins pulled my account. I
did this in a fit of frustration after a thread, probably...

Does one really need "bullet proof" inks by
MatthewK
Some recent expierences have made me question the need for permanent
inks. The inks that made me think of this recently are noodlers bp
black and platinum black.
An ink that smears is worse than one that washes away to me. I only have
two paper types noodlers does not smear on. Funnily enough the...

Slimmer Fountain Pens by
[email protected]
Hi Guys,
I am looking for suggestions for a nice slimmer (smaller, thinner,
more delicate) fountain pen - nice but for everyday use. Does anyone
have any suggestions?
Cheers,
Wilf

Would a Namiki Falcon work for me? by
Moira Perkins
Hello again,
I'm finding good stuff lurking here. Thanks to the resident Pilot
Capless fans for pointing out a great pen.
What I'm now wondering is: Would a Namiki Falcon work for someone who writes
a mundane Scottish cursive, or is this a more extreme pen that is aimed at
calligraphers?...

Noodler's Firefly and Highlighters by
Dave
Hi
Any suggestions for creating a useful highlighter pen to go with this
lovely ink, for somebody who
(a) is accustomed to using broad-tip felt highlighters, and
(b) has no interest in "underline-style" highlighting, and definitely
prefers to make a single broad stroke that covers the words?
I...

Pelikan 605? by
Txiasaeia
Quick question - are there any differences between this pen and the
Souveran 600, besides the colour and trim? Nib, body, etc. the same?

Parker 51 identification by
Mazur
Hi,
I'm trying to id a Parker 51 a recently bought on a estate sale. It
has a dark blue body and a gold cap. There are no writings on the
body of the pen.
The filler seems to be a converter type inside the pen with the
following written on it:
PARKER "51"

Mont Blanc Quality ?! by
jono
I am interested in buying a MontBlance fountain pen.
I have seen somewhere the resin used for body is prone to damage, splitting
etc due to fragile nature of material.
Is this true.
Advice would be welcome.

Loaning a Pen by
Charles Perry
I have learned a valuable lesson. NEVER loan a fountain pen to anyone! I
let someone borrow my Caren de Ache Ecridor fountain pen to sign something
today. It is not a particularly valuable pen, but it is (was) a great
writer and had sentimental value. I bought it on a business trip...

Love/Hate the rOtring Core? by
Bluesea
Do you love or hate the rOtring Core?
At the beginning of this month, I finally broke down and ordered one, a
conservative, non-orange, black & white fine fp. My first thought upon
sliding it out of its box upon its arrival a few days later was, "You've GOT
to be kidding!"
Now, I'd seen pictures...

"Breaking-in Fountain Pens" - Truth or Fiction? by
morten
Some say that a new fountain pen nib will "adjust" to it's owner, i.e.
the nib will wear according the angle and pressure its owner employs,
and become smoother.
I must say that while I'm skeptical, (irridium is pretty hard stuff)
my pens do seem to smooth out after months of use.
I'd be...

Frnak Dubiel was not by
jaye haviland
Hello,
Recently it was stated on this board that Frank was a misogynist.
This was stated as if it is a fact, which it is not.
Frank was definately NOT a misogynist and he would have been
very upset that anyone would label him as such.
Frank was my friend for quite some time. For the last 3...

Ronald Reagan's pens by
Ron Wilbanks
During an interview last night with a former White House staff member
during the Reagan Administration, he mentioned that Ronald always had a
lot of pens on hand that he was fond of. Some of them were gifts from
foreign dignitaries and friends from all over the world.
I am curious, what kinds of...
