Got to handle the 1913 nickels by
TomDeLorey
After the ANA closed on Sunday afternoon, I was privileged to follow the 1913
nickel exhibit into the Security room and pick up and look at each piece. The
ANA and Smithsonian pieces were in Kointains, the Walton piece in its
40-year-old Capital Plastic holder, and the other two pieces slabbed....

FA: AMERICAN, WORLD AND ANCIENT by
Jim
Greetings,
Once again I put together a nice variety of coins, some in large lots
of 10 Large (large cent/half dollar to Crown size!) size coins. There
should be more postings soon. Some other posts are heavily reduced
reposts. There are real bargains to be had here. My lot of 70 Mercury
dimes is a...

1850 British crown (young Victoria) by
Peter Lloyd
I have acquired a British crown dated 1850, showing the young Queen
Victoria (not the gothic design), but I can find no information about
this edition. The online sources I've consulted say that these crowns
were last minted in 1847, but this one definitely says "1850". The
design is basically the...

1892 S Morgan Dollar by
Fred
I have recently aquired an NGC Slabbed 1892 S Morgan Dollar graded VF 35.
Now, in VF 20, it lists at $45.00. In XF 40 it lists at $170.00!!! What do
you guys think this VF 35 would bring? I think it would bring somewhere in
the ballpark of $150.00 being that it is closer to XF 40.
Please...

Petoskey Coin Show Report by
High Plains Writer
Having maintained my membership in the Livingston County (Howell,
Michigan) Coin Club while moving all over these past five years, this
month's club newsletter told me of a coin show in Petoskey. It was
only 50 miles from where I am now, so I went.
About eight dealers had set up, about equal...

2003 Proof Sac Error or damage? by
Randy Thompson
I just got my 2003 silver proof sets the other day and one of the Sacs
has a problem. I managed to get a scan of the coin uploaded. It's a
lousy scan, but it's all I can do. I'm not sure my four year old
digital camera would do any...

Baltimore - December 5-7, 2003 by
EdKuszmar
The December 2003 Baltimore Coin and Currency Convention will be held in
Halls E and Swing Hall of the Baltimore Convention Center. These Halls are
much larger than our usual Halls A & B, and will give us additional room for
more bourse tables, special events space, and exhibits. This will also...

How much of a premium would an unopened 1958 proof set be? by
Ron
So, if I get an unopened proof set (in this case, 1958) and am getting
an opened one, should I keep the unopened one "unopened"? Is the
premium on it worth that?
I have heard horror stories that people get older proof sets that,
when finally opened, aren't what they were said to be (not the...

Does this look like natural toning to you? The changes around the edges look
decent but the colors on the surfaces look overwhelming.

Okay, it is for sure fixed. You don't have to skip my posts anymore. There

Numismatic gloves?? by
Donald Tucker
I've been a lurker here and appreciate the vast amount of knowledge here. I
have a question that maybe you all can help with.
I bought a complete set of proofs and uncirculated sets, 1959 - 2003 and all
of the silver proof sets - 1992-2003. My plan is to break them out of the
sets and put them...
